I am sure you already heard of the Amazon Rainforest. This immense floodplain is the largest and most biodiverse tract of tropical rainforest in the world and the largest drainage system there exists. To fully witness the sheer greatness and beauty of it, forget about staying on the ground, as there are no lookouts and higher peaks: flying is your best bet. We have been flying in this region for more than 20 years, and we can say it for sure: it is one of the best places for a paramotoring adventure.
The rivers are so great there that they form big sandy beaches and green water with plenty of sites to take off and land. The view on the top is staggering: rivers big and small, the freshwater dolphin of this location can be seen here and there, full of surprises. But maybe the best part is landing on a beautiful beach and swimming around in lukewarm freshwater, only to eat and have a drink with your friends recounting the adventures of the day.
The expedition happens during the dry season (Oct-Dec) when the river recedes and the beaches widen. Good take offs+no rain = great fun. We provide support to the pilots both on land and in the air. Following us during our flights we will have 2-3 (depending on the amount of pilots) fast boats giving us support in case anyone has to land before planned. Every day we take off after a typical breakfast and head to a 2-3h flight to some agreed destination where we will have lunch, swim and rest before starting the afternoon flight. On the afternoon flight we land at the place we will have dinner or barbecue, enjoy a bonfire and watch the sunset.
The November/2019 expedition will happen in the Tapajós River. The experienced paramotor pilots Lula, José, Raphael and Gabriel Laghi will be the guides of this trip. They will give support to the pilots both on land and in the air.
